CEO Challenges Announces CEO Sailing Challenge at Bitter End Yacht Club in Virgin Islands

(PRWEB) June 22, 2008 -- CEO Challenges, the world leader in sport competitions for CEOs, has partnered with Bitter End Yacht Club, to create a CEO Sailing Challenge for business executives who love sailing and competition. The three-day competition will be held on beautiful Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands on Oct. 31 through Nov. 2. This Challenge will be run concurrently with the Drake's Challenge Cup, and include a pre-race pep talk from Dawn Riley, the first female CEO of an America's Cup Challenge and former president of the Women's Sports Foundation.

John Glynn of Bitter End will head the race committee and be the regatta chair for this CEO Challenge. Competitors will follow the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing. Boats are provided to competitors; they will be Hunter 216s or Hobie Waves. The racing area will be in North Sound, Virgin Gorda, and include 16 scheduled starts. The top three finishers in the CEO Sailing Challenge will receive awards.

"We know that many CEOs are excellent sailors and competitive by nature. This competition provides a great forum to test their skills against their peers in an absolutely beautiful setting," said Ted Kennedy, President of CEO Challenges. "By arranging this competition where CEOs compete, we find that barriers are broken down and they get to know each better in four days than they would in four months in an office environment."

A limited number of slots are still available for company presidents and owners of companies with at least $2 million in annual gross revenue. C-Suite executives of companies with more than $4 million in revenue are also invited to attend. An entry fee of $4,800 will cover five days, four nights at the spectacular Bitter End Yacht Club; boating costs; all meals and beverages for two, including a CEO Challenge Welcome Reception and Dinner Thrusday prior to the competition and an awards ceremony and dinner on Sunday evening; Railriders apparel; an opportunity to watch or compete in the Pro-Am Regatta at the Bitter End Yacht Club beginning Nov. 3; and more. In addition, guests can observe the races from a viewing boat.

On behalf of each registrant, 10% of the net proceeds will be donated to the Challenged Athletes Foundation, established in 1997 to support the athletic endeavors of all people with physical challenges by providing grants for training, competition and equipment needs.
